A Little Moment of Magic

It has been almost a month since we were evacuated.

The mountains surrounding our town have been burned by the wildfire. When I think about all the wild animals who lost their homes, tears come to my eyes.

We are staying at a friend’s house, and one day, my kitty saw something outside.

I wondered what they were looking at.

Three black cats sit by a sunlit window on a dark mat, with a small www.keikowatt.com watermark.

Then I saw it, too.

It was a deer, eating something off the ground.

I wonder if it is living somewhere around here. It was so nice to see a deer just hanging around nearby.

Knowing that so many of them lost their homes around our town makes my heart ache. At the same time, seeing this little visitor reminds me that life continues, even after such devastation.

Thanks to my kitty, I was able to see this little bit of magic.

Love and Peace
